Volunteer Position: Board Member – Treasurer – Success Works Partners
About Us:
Operating as an Incorporated Association registered in NSW, Success Works Partners places women with a criminal record into paid employment. We are unique in Australia as the only culturally safe organisation supporting female ex-offenders to become contributing members of their community and move into employment. We are staffed by women with lived experience of the criminal justice system and supported by a volunteer Board and volunteer mentors.
Through our specialized approach and focus on outcomes, we aim to break the cycle of disadvantage and trauma experienced by families affected by incarceration through mentoring, professional development workshops, individual support, and the development of partnerships with employers.
The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate volunteer Treasurer to join the Success Works Board. As a volunteer Treasurer, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial resources, ensuring that every dollar we receive is used efficiently to support our mission. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of women striving to reintegrate into society after facing the challenges of a criminal record.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage financial records, including income and expenses.
- Prepare for an annual external audit with the Success Works Manager.
- Co-authorise the annual audit / financial report.
- Recommend the annual audited finance report to the membership at the AGM.
- Prepare and submit the Annual Information Statement (AIS) to the ACNC.
- Co-signatory for Success Works funding and performance agreements as required (with
- Manager).
- Sign contracts as required on behalf of the Board.
- Review the budget with the Manager before recommending to the Board.
- Co-authorise cheques or EFT’s on behalf of the organisation.
- Authority to hold Business credit card for Success Works expenditure.
- Ensure compliance and financial reporting obligations are met.
- Ensuring the Board is aware of, and understands, the organisation’s financial position and performance.
Desirable:
- Lived experience and/or sensitivity and empathy towards the challenges faced by women with criminal records.
- A strong commitment to Success Works mission and values.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
